The Flaunter Emerging Designer campaign showcases collections by 100 top graduates from Australia’s leading fashion schools. The 2018 participants are an incredibly talented bunch, making it the toughest year ever for our judges to pick their top 5 ‘designers to watch’.
Today, we can reveal the first finalists as selected by Eva Galambos – the founder and buyer of Sydney-based boutique Parlour X. In 2001, Galambos opened Parlour X and quickly established a reputation as Australia’s leading multi-brand luxury fashion destination. Renowned for its expertly curated selection of the most coveted ready-to-wear and accessories collections from the world’s most sought-after luxury designers including Céline, Chloé, Fendi, Balenciaga, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Comme Des Garçons, Loewe, Proenza Schouler and Isabel Marant.
With over 30 successful years in the fashion industry, Eva certainly knows how to spot emerging designers with serious potential.

“These candidates are so impressive. It is difficult to select just 5 so I have also included some highly commended mentions. We will be watching these designers in the future as we are always looking to support new talent in Parlour X. RMIT & UTS, in particular, were standouts. Well done to all candidates and teachers!”

RUBY PHAN (UTS)

“From a conceptional perspective, the proportion and techniques are beautiful. With more refinement and commercial elements, she will create an interesting brand.”
HANNAH CULSHAW (UTS)

“I like the simple silhouettes and wearable shapes. The colour palette and campaign is fresh and youthful. I can see a refined DNA.”
CHLOE MOTTAU (UTS)

“We went back on forth on Chloe’s collection. The more we looked at it, the more realised the commercial sensibility was, which could easily transition into retail. With more elevation and refinement this could be a great brand in the Australian market.”
Highly Commended

Madison Hislop (UTS), Lucy Swanson (North Metro TAFE), Patrick Mackenzie (QUT), Agnes Choi (UTS)
