“I loved looking at all of these. It was incredibly difficult to narrow down to just 5. The calibre is so high!”

Here are Rachel’s top 5 emerging Faces to Watch. Congratulations!

VICTORIA SCOTT – TAFE

Grazia - Oria Collection
“When I first saw Victoria’s images, I knew instantly that this would be one of my top 5 names to know. The clever draping and folding prove her design skill, while the colour palette and design proves she’s got commercial knack too. This collection would appeal to women right from the twenties to sixties and beyond – not an easy thing to achieve. I love how she’s styled the images too. Stunning.”

ALLIE HOWARD – UTS
Grazia - Allie Howard
“Her minimalist aesthetic mixed with maximalist fabrication treatments and clever use of space are brilliant. While each piece is different, there’s a strong consistency of voice throughout. So many strong looks and pieces it was almost impossible to pick the image I liked most. I expect we’ll be seeing big things from this lady should she carry on to a design career.”

ANTOINETTE EL-ALAM – UTS
Grazia - Antoinette El-Alam
“Exquisite use of patterning and colour. Detailing like inside out pockets and coloured seams is unique without being kitschy. An edgy, but very commercial designer putting her own spin on men’s suiting. Clever and fun!”

HANNAH BAILEY – TAFE
@bailey.aus // baileyaus.com
Grazia - Bailey - Hannah Bailey
“I love the clean, sharp aesthetic with a feminine twist – and also that there’s a strong consistency with her vision in this collection. A very commercial, everyday-wear collection that still has a cool girl edge.”

ALICIA MINTER-HUNT – UTS
@minter_hunt // minter-hunt.com
Grazia - Alicia Minter-Hunt
“I love that she’s championing volume and perfect imperfection – both can be tricky elements to embrace, but she’s combined them beautifully. The raw-look fabrication and studs that hold it all together are so striking. I particularly love the off–shoulder parachute dress – it’s very editorial (I could imagine this is a really artistic shot in GRAZIA magazine). Proof you don’t need OTT embellishment and gimmicks to make striking clothes.”

RACHEL’S HONOURABLE MENTION

BREEANNA WARDROP – TAFE
Grazia - Breeanna Wardrop
“She’s so commercial and wearable. Lovely to see some cocktail and couture in the mix. Very clever.”
