JAG: Paintbox By N.F.W

JAG and Nadia Fairfax-Wayne have collaborated on a weekend-inspired capsule that feels like a breath taken under the Australian sun. Paintbox, a 12-piece collection, treats heritage denim as a blank canvas; washed and rushed with colour that takes on new life.
The palette feels summoned by summer itself - tomato red cut into micro shorts, citrine yellow dresses that skim the body and vintage stripe denim. Classic JAG shapes arrive in vivid hues, playful details, and a fresh sense of fun. Think bold pockets, unexpected panels, and everyday pieces that feel like wearable art.
Reflecting on the inspiration for the capsule, Fairfax-Wayne says,
“I wanted to take classic JAG denim and give it a fresh feel by injecting colour. JAG has such a strong foundation in honest, quality denim so the fun part was imagining what happens when you treat those pieces like a blank canvas.”

She describes the mood of the collection as “playful, confident, and a little nostalgic,” drawing on the carefree spirit of Australian summer. And colour was essential: “Colour is one of the easiest ways to express individuality. I wanted people to wear these pieces and feel uplifted.”
The fabrications stay grounded in simplicity: cotton that breathes, lyocell that glides with quiet fluidity, a viscose knit, and JAG’s signature lightweight cotton–viscose denim is perfect for Aussie summer. Every piece is made to move, made to feel good, made for the weekend.
The campaign leans into this energy featuring Fairfax-Wayne and her friends photographer Kitty Callaghan and artist Gabrielle Penfold, shot in Maroubra.
Paintbox arrives 10th December in JAG boutiques and at jag.com.au, David Jones, Myer, The Iconic and Style Runner. Price ranges from $90-$250.
